Friendly Match in Sitting Volleyball Between Kazakhstan and Japan Held in Astana

ASTANA, April 3 – A friendly sitting volleyball match between the national teams of Kazakhstan and Japan took place today at the “Khan Shatyr” entertainment center in Astana. The event was held with the support of JSC Citibank Kazakhstan.
The primary goal of the event was to promote Paralympic sports, foster an inclusive environment in Kazakhstan, and inspire greater interest in sports among people with disabilities. The match also served as an important platform for cultural and professional exchange between athletes from the two countries.
Opening the event, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Sports and Physical Culture Mr. Amanbai Nurmukhanbetovwished the athletes success and emphasized the significance of the occasion.
“We are honored to welcome the Japanese national team to Kazakhstan. Their visit is a privilege for us and a testament to the high level of skill demonstrated by our athletes. Last year, one of the strongest teams from the Pan-American region – Brazil – visited Astana, and we also hosted the match here at Khan Shatyr. We are sincerely grateful to our partners at JSC Citibank Kazakhstan for their support and to the Khan Shatyr administration for providing the venue. This match is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the power and beauty of para-sports,” noted Bauyrzhan Takhauov, Head Coach of Kazakhstan’s national sitting volleyball team.
Kazakhstan’s national team is a medalist at both the Asian Championships and the Asian Para Games and is ranked among the top five teams globally at the Paralympic Games. This year, the team is set to compete in the Asia Oceania Zonal Championships, which will take place from June 9 to 19 in Hangzhou, China.
